CMON designer Michael Shinall is back to challenge Justin at miniature game A Song of Ice and Fire.

Let's Play: A Song of Ice and Fire - Game of Thrones Scenario

In the first play through the guys demonstrated the mechanics in a shorter version of the Game of Thrones scenario, but this time they'll be playing through a full 30 point game with Justin defending the honour of House Stark and Michael paying the debts of House Lannister.

The game will have five different game scenarios or "modes". The one the guys are playing involves armies fighting to claim various objectives across the battlefield, each granting a unique power.

The other scenarios are:

  • A Clash of Kings: Players only start with a small portion of their army, with the rest arriving throughout the game.
  • A Feast for Crows: The mental fatigue of the battlefield takes its toll on units as bodies stack up across the battlefield.
  • A Storm of Swords: One army must hold off their opponent in a mighty castle siege.
  • The Winds of Winter: Both armies take to the battlefield to complete secret missions, hidden from their opponents.

The game was open to pledges on Kickstarter back in July and ended up reaching over five times their initial goal. The game is due to ship next April so as Michael states in the video some of the pieces shown are the early prototype versions.

Did you manage to get in on the Kickstarter?
