Games Workshop have a smaller release this week but it comes in the form of the Gaunt Summoner. This eldritch spellweaver works for the Chaos God Tzeentch, the Changer of Ways and looks like he has many schemes to enact from atop his floating disc…
As you can see he comes atop this spiked disc with a flowing cloak, an alien look to his face (warped by magic no doubt) and a staff bearing his Gods idol atop it. You can see the model in more detail below but I actually quite like this one. I think he would work equally well for both Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40,000.
One of the things that I like seeing Games Workshop do is making it so that their floating and/or flying miniatures don’t always need a flying stand. Instead they have incorporated some of the sculpt into the design so that, as in this case, it can be lifted up atop a wave of magical energy.
While some might say that this particular sculpt is a little too ornate and over the top I think it fits in well with the theme of Tzeentch especially. Once again, a good miniature from within the theme of Age of Sigmar.
You can check out its rules HERE via the free downloadable PDF.
What do you think of the Gaunt Summoner?
