Not sure who that new fella is but he needs to stop swinging back and forth in his chair I was getting motion sickness watching him. Cracking show apart from that though and hauntingly familiar at the same time, it’s almost as if I have seen it before.

@warzan you had it the wrong way round, Blood and Plunder is set before Napoleon and his adventures in Belgium – but the again those was not new builds in 1815, so it should fit
La Haye Sainte was built before 1536 by the Moitomont’s family from Braine l’ Alleud. 🙂
I was thinking that with a slight redress that table might be usable as an English town invade during Warlord Games Operation Selion campaign book.

One of my board game group is a hardcore Pathfinder RPG player and runs sessions via Google hangout multiple times a week.

Nice one Gerry and BOW for high lighting ‘Strongsword”. Westfalia’s miniatures are fantastic beautifully sculpted and are cast incredibly well. The game itself is superb, having played a number of games using the beta rules.
As a side Westfalia also have the female Northern Mercenaries which are a joy to behold 🙂
Indeed they are and there are rules for paladins, barbarians , theives and rangers in the game. So they’re all useable

Hi guys, I started a forum on this but @warzan mentioned gaming on hobby nights getting the punters involved so thought I would mention it again. In wargames illustrated there was an article where people had webcams for generals so could only see where they’re avatar was on table top. They had captains who could see the table top but only report back I think in writing to keep the fog of war in tact. Cud have 2 people at home with two BoW members acting as the captains and almost conversing via txt style… the article was a couple… Read more »

Also, loving all the pirates stuff at the moment. Have been obsessed with pirates ever since I read Captain Blood by Raphael Sabatini as a kid.

That board looks amazing, I did really like the look of the blood and plunder ships. @warzan who painted them and is there A tutorial anywhere, the wood effect is fantastic!
Warren’s painting proxy John did them, there is a fairly substantial guide on back stage this week as part of the board build they’ve also gone through building, rigging and painting the ships.

If you’re not currenty a backstage member then you can take out a 7 day free trial to watch those videos and any other backstage videos that take your fancy and see if backstage is for you 🙂

On the question of the HNL winner’s Thousand Sons, fairly sure those are just the regular plastics. At the very least they don’t look different tho the ones I’ve got sitting about a foot away from me. 😉
On the Westfalia mins – is it a giant centipede, or is it an ankheg? Also Lloyd, isn’t it an ogre with the halfling arabs, not a troll?

I backed three Westfalia miniatures Kickstarters, two of which have been delivered and the third is about to be sent. Westfalia goes out of its way to make customers happy (have a broken miniature? – Replacement will be sent quickly). The miniatures are beautiful, full of character and the resin ones I got are among the best I’ve seen.
Definitely swooning over Fallout…

I think it’s really smart to bring on some of the talented community members at BOW.
I’ve been enjoying the FFG STAR WARS championships. but while they do a good job at FFG and everyone is very knowledgeable, it really highlights how charismatic the BOW team are.
CMON guys are a treat, such a great couple of blokes. The Dragyri sculpts are just so good, regardless of faction. imaginative and beautifully executed.
I might start playing just so I can spank Justin.
the masquerade stuff looks super atmospheric, castles and candlelight.
can’t believe they have a safe word. which is both funny and terrifying.
almost forgot. Jerry’s T-shirt is awesome.
Cheers. I keep a stock of new ones in case of bootcamps or TV appearances. Just like the Cat from Red Dwarf I wouldn’t want to be caught twice in the same outfit
Gaming in the dark could work- get some head-mounted torches so players are their own little spotlights for that fog of war feeling where you can’t see the entire map at once. You could have dry ice drifting across for extra emphasis, too. Could be good for WWII escape missions as well as claustrophobic Mythos-type games. You could house rule hidden movement to make use of the darkness so that players are genuinely surprised when their light falls on a model that they weren’t expecting. Of course you’d probably need luminous dice and electronic rulebooks, but it would be fun… Read more »
