We’ve seen terrain for the Algoryn from Warlord Games and Sarissa Precision but now they’re moving on to create some terrain for the Boromites of Beyond The Gates Of Antares with this Mining Facility.
One of the main pieces of terrain that would mark a central focus for your gaming would be this Command Vent which comes with shielding around the outside. You can just imagine this being something that your enemies are looking to blow up by placing explosives inside it!
The Trans Scanner might be another of the options for narrative terrain on the tabletop. This gives you an idea of the industry going on here on the planet as the scanner looks for minerals underground so the Boromites can focus their efforts.
If you were setting up a scenario based around this then you could see this as one of the other options for the enemy to assault. Take this out and they’re going to fumbling around in the dark!
Some smaller terrain options are also available which come with a selection of scatter terrain pieces too like this Ore Processing Scanner…
…and the Orbital Transmat which enables your soldiers and the worker to travel from ship to surface. It’s really nice that we’re beginning to see terrain for this game world to give people a sense of how the world looks.
Essential to giving the tabletop a lived in feeling you can also snap up some Hab Domes too. Maybe if you were making a smaller facility or a different complex this could be set up away from the main mining operation.
The style of the buildings is great and Sarissa do some fantastic kits so you should have plenty of fun putting these together. Simple paint schemes would work too with a bit of airbrushing allowing you to make buildings and other terrain pieces for the tabletop relatively quickly.
Considering most of these buildings would be made to easily assemble on the planet surface it makes sense that they’ve have a simple uniform colour scheme.
What do you think of these latest terrain offerings?
