The author of the next (something)slayer book for the Gotrek & Felix series, David Guymer posted a link showing off what could be the final title in this epic saga. Black Library’s Gotrek & Felix: Kinslayer is on the cards.
Here’s the blurb…
“Once heroes and companions on the greatest of adventures, Gotrek Gurnisson and Felix Jaeger have long since gone their separate ways. Felix, married and working for the family business in Altdorf, embarks on a journey north to Kislev when he hears that an old comrade has been captured by the forces of Chaos. Reunited with Gotrek, and other old friends, Felix begins to suspect that he has embarked upon his final adventure. And in the cold north, Gotrek’s doom awaits him.”
How this moves on from the events at the end of Zombieslayer I don’t know, and it will be interesting to find out exactly what Guymer has planned but I love that they are delving back into the actual slayer series to bring it to some kind of conclusion. It’s a shame that Nathan Long isn’t working on the finale but Guymer has proved himself to be a capable writer of slayer novels with other stories.
Will Gotrek find his doom? I for one don’t think he should. I think there should be a sense of tragedy about the ending for these two. Felix dies without being able to finish off the epic poem and Gotrek never finds his doom, wandering off into myth and legend.
What do you think?
