Romain begins work on a Carnevale miniature… one of those slimy & sinister Deep Ones… the Ugdru-Rashaar!
Great looking figure! I don’t think you mentioned…is it metal or plastic?
Also, if you were to have gone with a green ink instead of the purple, would you still have mixed evenly with the blue base color, or would you have used the grey instead?
Thank you !
It is metal. All Carnevale figures I’ve seen are metal.
What do you mean “purple” ? I haven’t used purple on this one…
I like the color scheme and I must say that your videos motivate me to invest myself a bit more into painting my miniatures.
If I have inspired you to better yourself, then I did my job properly… Thanks for making my day !
Ah sorry I meant the periscope, not purple.
If I had wanted a greener hue, I’d have used perhaps Coal Black (P3) instead of Periscopes (Vallejo), or indeed a black and green wash. I probably would have used a greener base colour, such as a nice teal or even some Meredius Blue (P3)… Or perhaps a mix of Sombre Grey and Luftwaffe Green (I don’t remember the exact name, but it’s from Panzer Aces, it’s a subdued green that’s not quite olive).
That said, with proper blending, you can have a good gradient from any colour to any colour, so having green shades to a blue and grey base is no obstacle.
In any case, I wouldn’t really have changed the grey tones of the belly… But, what the hell, I could have done it in more yellowish hues to go with green !
The choice of colours is yours… You can pull off any scheme you want, technique isn’t an issue.
