Plenty of awesome stuff has popped up in the Hobby & Painting Forum this week looking towards both the Historical, the Sci-Fi and more!
Make sure to check out their work and share your own to be in with a chance of claiming yourself a golden button!
SAGA Late Romans by blipvertus
We start off with some fantastic Late Romans that have been painted up by blipvertus for use in Aetius & Arthur, the Arthurian Age game which uses the SAGA rules.
Some amazing work has gone into these models giving them a wonderful splash of colour as well as bringing in all of those metallics and darker tones that we love seeing on our Dark Age miniatures. It’s great to see the shields looking superb to thanks to the transfers used here.
Mixing up the sets of soldiers with some bearing the green and white, whilst the more senior soldiers are rocking red and bronze makes for a nice way to work out who is fighting with who on the tabletop.
While the overall scheme is quite a simple one it has been used exceptionally effectively to bring together a fantastic looking army for the tabletop. It goes to show that once you get your techniques down you can make your larger scale tabletop armies pop.
You can check out the rest of his forum topic linked above as it goes into more detail about how he painted the scheme.
Lost Patrol Set by wispa
Next, we move into the realm of Sci-Fi as we check out the work from wispa. They painted up this wonderful looking set of Genestealers and Scouts for use with the Lost Patrol game by Games Workshop.
As you can see wispa went with the awesome Space Wolf scheme for the Scouts and then mounted them on clear bases so that it doesn’t distract from the tiles you’ll be playing on. The scheme has come over very nicely indeed using some classic colours from their Chapter.
Additionally, the splash of colour for this set comes from the Tyranid Genestealers that are stalking these Scouts through the jungle.
With these models, a little bit of foliage has been added to the bases along with a dark earth texture to match the tiles. The pale colours and the deep red on the carapace work very nicely against each other and it’s created a very nice set of models for dropping into the mix in Lost Patrol.
You can see a full run down of techniques and more over on the forum thread linked above. We love seeing these more indepth PLogs!
Orc Walking Tank by orlandothetechnicoloured
Last but not least we take a look at a model that was begun during Hobby Night Live. Here we have orlandothetechnicoloured and his impressive Orc Walking Tank from Maxmini.
The finished product is looking superb with some nice deep greens which give it a proper militaristic feel. It’s nice to also see some good splashes of colour across the hull with the iconography and the metallics of the guns. The highlighting and small moments of battle damage across the hull also work nicely to elevate the miniature to that next level.
