We’re back with another round of Community Spotlights from you awesome folks in the Hobby & Painting Forum. This time we’re looking at some heavy armour…
…as well as some fantastic Infinity painting which really puts most of us to shame!
Battlegroup Kursk Army by vogless
We’re kicking things off from this project by vogless which goes into detail as he explores building up an army for Battlegroup Kursk in 20mm. Here we have one of the models which really drew our attention to the project, this Halftrack.
The thing that really caught our eye here was the way that the camouflage had been done across the vehicle as it isn’t harsh and must have taken a little while to get just right. It then matches really well with the crew manning it in the back.
It’s always great seeing more people working on models for World War II and in particular, here we have something on a slightly smaller scale than normal. You can see more his work on the thread linked above including sets like this…
It would be great to see vogless expanding upon this and maybe showing off some of these units set up in their natural surroundings to see how they look on the battlefield. What do you make of his Krusk-styled army?
Infinity Squad by ckpmax1108
We now turn our attention to some amazing Sci-Fi painting from a thread which is packed with interesting projects. ckpmax1108 has shown off this fantastic Infinity squad painted with some skill.
The amount of detail that has gone into the armour, the weapons, the clothing, not to mention the faces AND those tattoos, is just staggering. If anything shows off how Infinity models can pop its this thread.
You can take a closer look at this fantastic squad over on the thread. One special mention should go to the way the bases have been designed to complement the models and not take away from them. The small amount of greenery and the darker shades really work.
We’re loving the work here and can’t wait to see more of ckpmax1108′s work on that thread in particular and around the website in general.
1/16th Scale Armoured Personnel Carrier by bluesun2517
We now turn back to some more armour with our last entry for this week as we check out this amazing scratch built Armoured Personnel Carrier in 1/16th scale by bluesun2517.
This particular beast was based off the 28mm design by Ramshackle Games and has been suped up into this utter behemoth. Not only has bluesun2517 done a fantastic job with the building (as you’ll see later) but also the weathering and the painting here, bringing it to life.
It really does look like an actual model kit when you see it finished. If you’re interested in how it all came together bluesun2517 has shown us all the steps on the thread linked above. Here’s a taster…
Now that truly is what you’d call a labour of love and taking things to the next level. You wouldn’t want to run into one of those on the battlefield, even if it has been made from all sorts of household objects!
Show Us Your Stuff!
We’ve been blown away by the work from the community once again and would love to see your work in the Hobby & Painting Forum.
