You are able to not only get your hands on the Base Game…
…but also look further afield and delve into some of the terrain, miniature, and other upgrades that they included as part of the Kickstarter. It’s neat that even the Base Game pre-order above still gets you in on the Stretch Goals that they unlocked through the campaign process.
Tabletop Terrain Options
As you’ll no doubt remember, Battle Systems do some amazing terrain pieces. They simply slot together and can be used to create all manner of fascinating landscapes. I’ve picked out two of my favourites here with the Galactic Set first, offering up a look into a bustling metropolis onboard a space station, or down on a thriving planet.
There’s also this Outland Set which I think would be cool for some dastardly doings. You could imagine your crew landing there and finding the place almost like a ghost town, only to be ambushed!
There is MUCH more for you to explore when it comes to the terrain side of the game so if you feel like you need more locations to play out your games, make sure to take a peek.
Hiring A New Crew
The game revolves around your crew of miscreants and daredevils, and Battle Systems did an awesome job of providing us with some fun characters to play games with. Much like with the terrain options I checked out just two of the neat crews that you can snap up to play your games with.
Each of the crews comes with all of the bits and bobs that you need to play them as well as the rather fancy miniatures. Battle Systems really delved into their creativity hat when it came to pulling these aliens and more to life. I think they’re probably some of the best we’ve seen for miniature gamers in a few years!
As with the terrain, there’s a lot more for you to check out when it comes to additional miniatures and that is without going into detail on the Purge and Galactic Corporation who are trying to make your life harder.
Learn More About Core Space
You can download the rules for Core Space HERE and see if the game is for you. It has a narrative focus, working with between one and six players. Solo play is a fascinating concept that I’m glad they’ve explored and it could be a great way to tell your own stories.
If you want to find out how the game plays we also have two Let’s Plays you can watch with Get The Goods…
…and Destroy The Shields.
Give these a watch and see if the game appeals to you. We’ve got some great plans for delving into Core Space in the future so watch out for that too!
