July 7, 2015 by stvitusdancern

Cryptozoic Entertainment and Don’t Panic Games have acquired the license for the widely popular manga and anime phenomenon, Attack on Titan. This title has been a run away hit in the manga and anime circles and the manga volumes have been consistently on the New York Times bestseller list for manga.

There has been several video games beside the printed materials and there is a couple of live action movies set to releases in August and September in Japan and elsewhere.

Attack on Titan

The game that will be created by these two companies will have one player being the Titan and the others playing as humans fighting against the Titan. According to the release the game will be a vertical climber with the human players trying to get to the top to defeat the Titan, it is set for release in 2016.

Attack on Titan

If you are not familiar with the story it is about a future Earth and clusters of human settlements surrounded by walls in an attempt to keep out the Titans, giant humanoid creatures that eat people. It is a very dark story and I can honestly say I have only seen a little of the story and it is not really my cup of tea. However, I know we have many members who love manga and anime and might be excited to play this game when released.
