The first models are the Sea Devils that you see here. They are an old school villain from 1971. Here’s a rundown on what they were like in this particular episode…
“The Master (Roger Delgado) summoned a colony of Sea Devils hibernating beneath the English Channel. He persuaded them to reclaim the planet from the humans for his own satisfaction. The Doctor (Jon Pertwee) tried in vain to persuade the military not to attack the creatures. When hostilities reached boiling point, the Sea Devils declared war on humanity.
The Master’s plan to awaken more colonies was foiled, when the Doctor blew up their base, thus preventing a war between the two species.”
With all of the Doctors coming together for this game maybe you’ll be able to see if things go differently for you on the tabletop?
Shambling Space Men
In addition to the Sea Devils, we also have the Vashta Nerada from a more current adventure with Doctor Who.
Here’s a bit of the fluff on these miniatures too who might not be quite as they seem…
“The Tenth Doctor (David Tennant) and Donna Noble (Catherine Tate) arrive on a planet known simply as “The Library” which houses millions of books across thousands of levels. Every text known to man is housed here. Seemingly deserted, an archaeological expedition arrives, headed by Professor River Song (Alex Kingston).
River reveals a cryptic message sent from the library indicating there were no survivors but “4022 saved” and reveals to the TARDIS crew her party is investigating the reason why the library has been sealed for the last hundred years.
The Vashta Nerada are microscopic carnivorous lifeforms which have infiltrated the planet. They use the shadows to stalk and latch onto their prey.”
Will you mixing and matching together these miniatures to continue playing big games on the tabletop with your Doctor Who miniature collection?
