We are always looking for innovative terrain to help take our games to the next level- we may have found just the ticket with the Dungeonmancer terrain Kickstarter from Joe Aaron.
Joe has developed a clever, study, and picturesque, 28mm terrain system that literally allows you to bring your dungeon to life!
This innovative system allows you to create the complete picture of a single build, diorama type display piece, with the flexibility of moving parts that can be changed from game to game. Want a door that opens and closes? You got it. The ability to alter the hallway or corridors? Done.
My personal favorite is the ability to lay hidden trap doors as the dungeon master. Now you can plot out your dungeon scene, complete with hidden trap doors that lead to all sorts of danger, like a spikey death! (check out his KS video to see that!)
This system allows all of these options with the creative use of magnets. You can lay out the design of your dungeon, complete with moving parts with the placement tool included in your system.
When your dungeon goes together, your participants are non-the-wiser to the secret details as the scene goes together in one seamless display. Your unsuspecting participants will play along without seeing the “hidden” trap represented by the face down token on the board- or the wall with a hidden passage that looks ever so slightly different than the rest.
The best part of all is because of the use of magnets, your single display terrain will stay together relatively easily for transport, so you can grab your terrain and go on to the next house where there the game is scheduled without having to take a box full of pieces with time to set it all up once you get there.
I’m hoping Joe will post some additional pictures with the system painted up. I think the idea is very clever and prettying it up a little with a nice splash of paint will truly show how it can transform a table bring your game to life.
Will you take control of your dungeon with this creative terrain?
