Andy & Darrell discuss the latest expansion book from Flames of War… Blood, Guts & Glory… and take a look at the new Tank Aces campaign rules.
been looking in to this a bit, I’m thinking British bren gun carriers might give Darrell a run for his money.
My father’s first job after leaving school aged 14 was on the production line building Universal Carriers (sounds like a delivery service lol)
wow very cool Darrell’s Still Bending My ear About using the valentines but i thing the force org stops him, but i could be wrong.
By the looks of it, after hearing Gen. George S. Patton Jr is a “special character”, BG&G is covering the 3rd Army. This is the best new I’ve heard regarding FoW in the 6 years…. I’ve been waiting so long for a sourcebook to come out and have Patton as a warrior team, and to finally have some rules especially for the 3rd Army.
I recommend people, if they are yet to see it, purchase/download/hire/borrow the film “Patton” starring George C. Scott.
When in reserve in Wales he was called Patton the Back
of course when in the vanguard he was Patton the head
Tank battles appeal to me as a way of getting into Flames of War. I’d be interested to know if any experienced FoW players would recommend a different book to start with?
any particular tank army or period your looking at. Late war The new Forces book from the rulebook pack covers the basic tank forces for each of the 4 main armies. Hells highway has a great british tank list. Earth and steel or Grey wolf are the books for Germans Turning tide has several Brit/US tank lists and Red bear covers your Russians. all good books for tank lists
Thanks for the reply. Mid to late war appeals to me. Eastern front mostly.
There are army lists with the main rules try these first. Also worth checking out EasyArmy.com. It’s an army builder site for Flames of War, it’s very cheap and the lists are made to look exactly like the lists in the books. Highly recommended site.
I’m actually interested in this new book. Typically, I’ve run Itals, Brit, and German forces. US never really appealed to me. But these new tanks might just do the trick. Plus, as a tank force, hopefully not as expensive as my normal infantry forces. You know no pain until you build a Fucilieri army.
Try painting 2×27 stand Soviet Companies! That doesn’t included command and support. I feel your pain.
