Thanks for the help guys
The 12 Soviet Flame-throwers must combat attach. This would ensure that a whole unit doesn’t just evaporate after firing.
Oh, and they’d cost 540 points!
This.
Combat attaching also allows those bad boys to cover more ground, meaning less wasted shots (those suckers are expensive).
I wonder, does vehicles that mount flamethrowers get more than 1 shot? If not, wouldnt that make the flame tanks a bit limited?
Yes they do. As they said you don’t reduce your ROF when moving with flame throwers. I believe the Churchill Crocodile has a ROF of 5. Which is absolutely insane.
What a flame hot show guys!!!
Rulebook out and following along. Really enjoying all the options being covered. A must to get into the finer points of FOW.
Great show again!
Feuer Frei
Awesome show guys, as usual!!
Could you guys make a battle report in which you use these tactics?
That would put them in a clear game context as well as a better tactical appreciation over the board.
Flamethrowers! Why does it have to be Flamethrowers…hate those things. I think some people use them too much. I know they are expensive, but come on they were not used to the extent some use them in the game. It is good to hit them hard and fast from a distance. Don’t let them get in close.
Seeing comments like this raises the question of how much fun they are to play against.
In Bolt Action it’s not so bad because they’re separate units (at least in the British lists) so can be targeted. Vehicle-based flamethrowers not so much.
Actually the Soviets can take a Flamethrower in the Engineer unit (in body armour if you like!) in Bolt Action. You’d need a 6 followed by a 6 to kill him, or a sniper. Mine always runs out of fuel after one shot anyway.
Not tried anything historical yet but tempted
Great episode as always guys.
I just wish you had covered the flame thrower tank /APC options in a bit more detail though.
Are you doing another episode for flame throwing vehicles perchance?
Putting 12 flamethrowers on the board sounds spectacular. But from a gaming perspective I would probably prefer to attach one or two of them to each unit I intend to get into combat.
The 12 Flamethrower unit MUST be combat attached.
They’re far too expensive to be considered really, certainly not all 12! I’d probably take 1 or 2 at most (and ensure they were in an infiltrating unit).
Maybe it s time to get some flamethrowers…
Great video very helpful. It is making me rethink the army I want to play. I want to play Germans and at the moment I only have 2 stug g assault guns the open fire set will really help start the hobby.
Play FoW Great War Germans if you like flame. Their company HQ has up to 3 flamethrower teams for you to attach out to the infanterie platoons and Stoss platoons have flamethrowers already embedded in them 🙂
Thanks for all the videos you guys do on this game. I hope to get into it once i get the money and time and these videos will defiantly give me a leg up on understanding this game.
Count me into the competition! Thanks.
Another excellent vid, keep them coming.
When are we going to see new battle reports.
Tip top, top tipage. Flamethrowers ay, will have to get them a go.
ready for some more battle report goodness
Awesome. Thanks guys. Very helpful
These vids are great, really give you a feel for the intricacies of the game
This is such a mainstay game, I’ve considered it many times, what kind of scale are the conflicts normally? Battalions? Companies? Platoons? Squads?
Mainly company level engagements, with on average 5-7 platoons although this varies depending on your list.
Wow. Flame throwers! Potent!
This game looks really cool! It’s a shame noone plays it here :/
