December will bring more goodies riding the waves of Freebooter’s Fate, a number of which have just been previewed.
First up, Freebooter’s Fate is getting a couple of gaming accessories, ranging from a Goblin Head pin to show your true colours to a secondary objectives deck.
The inclusion of a secondary objective deck is a particularly nice addition to the game, helping you to randomise your games and introduce new narrative developments and tactical elements to keep in mind.
A couple of miniatures are also sailing into view, almost literally in one case. First up is Little Pete, a pirate specialist from the Mystic Spirits expansion.
This green shows a rather cheeky looking chap, with a wide mischievous grin plastered across his face. He may indeed be diminutive in name and nature, but I don’t doubt for a second that he won’t prove himself when the muskets start firing and cutlass start clashing.
Finally, we get to see a 2015 piece that’s in the works, an Amazonian boat called a Xalupa.
The inclusion of small rowing boats like these adds an interesting dimension of movement to the game, as well as adding to the piratical feeling of the setting.
Will you be asking Santa for any of these come Christmas?
