so daffy is part of Disney by 2051?

@piers – BT-7s in use in Karelia until almost 1945 – that wouldn’t surprise me in the least. This was one of the lowest-priority sectors of the STAVKA’s front (so would be forced to use older equipment far longer than other sectors), and Soviets would use friggin’ everything they had at hand no matter how obsolete or [...]

Thanks @querion , I was a bit iffy on how the Knights were coming but getting that trim on their heraldic shields and the little bits of detailing blocked in really made them come together. And I will torture @caladors as long as it amuses me. At the moment that sees no sign of letting up so [...]

    (1) (Hollywood) movies and games are not documentaries …. Sure. We know that, because we’ve either read actual accounts or used other means to dig deeper. They’re not as boring as the history lessons we got in school. Yet at the same time they do act as gateways into history to those of us who [...]

Saw it yesterday. Oh man… That’s a couple of hours I’ll never get back. The entire movie was so utterly stupid that I don’t even know where to begin. The only moment I actually liked was Luke ripping the old Jedi Order a new one. Having tortured myself with both the prequel trilogy and the [...]

I think it is a sensible approach to this kind of thing. What they appear to be doing is to ensure that both teams can be recognized on the tabletop. That’s why metal needs a bit of paint and the (pre coloured) plastic variant doesn’t. And I think they’ve set the standard low enough that [...]

I understand the reasons, but personally don’t like it. I think the painting requirement did a lot to make guildball tournaments some of the best looking. That is as a hideously slow painter.

Normally think Steamforged are spot on, but not on this one. Also doesn’t set a good precedent for Godtear

The Wood Mother is a versatile model for the Coven. She is a witch, and like most witches, she has Hex Siphon and Curse. Hex Siphon allows you to grant a witch an extra action point when you kill someone with hex damage (e.g. curse). Can really help you push a little extra to swing [...]

My biggest concern in modern times is the ignorance in Europe of how the Nazis rose to power. If I had time I would write a list of policies and I doubt many would know if they were modern or national socialist in origin. I genuinely believe that the young particularly are scarily ignorant in [...]

I seem to remember a selection of rather old armour still remaining in use in Karelia till almost into 1945.

Somewhere I have an account of a recce unit that fielded a pair of BT7s in 1944 alongside their Valentines.
