just discovered this game, absolutely LOVING the models. im about to buy into it but just read that ownership is about to change. do you think it will alter the game? should i hold off buying anything until the transition is complete?

    “whats E.T short for?”

Ok, I don’t really keep up with the game like I should but I’ll answer to the best of my knowledge.
As far as I know ownership is staying put, but distribution is changing. Cypher Studios used to be a smaller company that couldn’t handle distributing so many models on their own so they had a deal with Fantasy Flight to distribute for them, but anima took off after a few years and the line has gotten rather large for a FF game. So, as Cypher has grown, they are now able to distribute on their own.

This is all to the best of my knowledge as a casual fan, but there may be some industry insiders that can enlighten me to some bigger changes I’m not aware of.

I own quite a bit of stuff, but have yet to play. That said, I keep an eye on AT, so the game is still supported with new minis/releases and a core rule book. There have been add-on rules, but no follow-up ‘big’ rule book/companion yet.

Cypher seem to release things sporadically, and I guess some of the issue are with getting rules/cards translated from the original Spanish.

Not heard anything about this but have got a bit out of touch with the Cypher forums
Hope the game continues well as I enjoy the models and gameplay

I think this was about FFG dropping the AT line- its a hard game to track down in the uk but it is avaiable in a few places

@madprof666 even if the game changes the minis are still amazing and well worth having in your miniatures collection.

every since Anima left FF there hasnt been much change to the game. I remember when version 1 came out with the early starters back in 2005 and that version was somewhat slow to play the model out of the starters looked fugly.

though im glad of where the game has gone now even tough its still a “B” rated game. the rules have improved on a sleight which makes the game somewhat faster and a tiny bit more customizable with Team Organization specials. some other players i talked to think some things are over powered, but to be fair, most of the units with their special abilities fit their Organization. Theme is always good, especially the Shinra / Umbrella Corp faction called the Black Sun!

have fun with the game if you decide to jump right in. Any Organization you are looking into?
