    Hi everyone,
I am new on here but thought I’d share the pre-release models from Hawk Wargames Dropzone Commander range, David and the team have kindly sent me an Ocelot Warstrider from the Shaltari Wartribes faction and 4 Wolverine Scout Buggies from the United Colonies of Man along with a building.

The models are production casts so what you see is what you will get in the final packaging, overall the models are excellent quality.
I found a few air bubbles in inconspicuous places which were filled with Liquid green Stuff easily or putty.
The detail is absolutely ridiculous for models that size, they are covered in vents and lights and rivets….simply gorgeous!

The resin itself is flexible and easily worked whether it is sanded or cut and is quite tough, I imagine parts will bend rather than break if dropped.

I have been given the challenge to make something of the models so I thought I’d follow the trend and do a diorama, the idea is that a squadron of buggies has stumbled upon the Warstrider……a kind of David and Goliath moment if you like.

I wanted to use the official looking building as a back drop to the scene, it will be raised up a little on steps leading to pavement and eventually the road surface.

Only thing I am stuck on is if to do the buildings battle worn of nice and fresh? any ideas?

Great to see one of the awesome Shaltari Warstriders!

They really look like fearsome war machines towering over puny Buggies :D I love it. Want them already!

Right chaps I have a little update for you this is as far as I have progressed today so far.
The steps etc are built from plasticard, 0.5 mm and 1 mm plasticard to be exact.
I’m considering adding some skylights and aircon units on the roof of the building to add some detail and I might add some banners hanging from the front of the building.

And I decided to magnetize the Warstrider to show how easy it goes together, 2mm magnets are glued into the central body and the weapon mount on top.

    Stay tuned for more…..

Great choice of models! Can’t wait to see more :)

Skylights would be a lovely bit of detail to add

Good job on the magnetising too

This walker is rather big. I’m really liking this model line and hope we can get them soon.

What could be the best surprise of the year? Finding your miniature case you thought was lost in your move some 4 years ago that has your Troll Blood army and your Tzeentch custom mushroom deamon army.

Right peeps here is an update for you:

The building is finally complete and ready for paint

The Wolverine Scout Buggies I chose an Urban camouflage for these figuring the future humans would still use it as a means of deception.

The Warstrider I chose an alien liiking scheme to show exotic materials and atempted an OSL effect on the railgun(I will confess to being very new to OSL so any tips would be cool)
Onto the building next and I hope I can tie it all together in the end.
I will post better pics when finished, these were off my Iphone so excuse the quality.

Sorry for the delay people, I am smack bang in the middle of moving into my house.
The decorating has really got in the way so I have had to stop the painting a bit early.
But I will show you how far I got with it.
