    Ok, before reading the rest of this, look at the attached file

    I know, it’s just a relatively poor quality green balrog, but it was my first organic model, and I didn’t know what to do. I’ll post the combat stats in a later reply.

    Mat Ward installed Vista on the Necron Warriors…………….
    HE WILL PAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    @bloodhunter

    Thank you

    @necjon

    But it’s not a conversion. It’s a very odd paint scheme, but thank you, nonetheless.

    Anyone ever seen the design for the character “Necron” from Final Fantasy?

    … if that thing doesn’t scream C’tan, I don’t know what does.
    (if anything, I’d say he fit the bill of the Void Dragon)

    “Nemesor” is a rank (like “admiral” or “general”), not a first name.
    Same with “Vargard”.
  • Avatar Image zetombstalker12p said 1 year, 1 month ago:

    @skoffs
    I have, but not at the time I made this. Otherwise, that looks completely badass, if not very hard to make.

    At some point, I will redesign the Void Dragon with that design in mind, but not for a while.

    Here’s the combat stats:

    APOCALPSE ONLY!

    The Void Dragon
    WS BS S T W I A Ld SV
    7 7 10 8 5 6 5 10 2+
    Points=520
    Unit Type: Monstrous Creature (Character)
    Unit Composition: 1 (Unique)
    Wargear: Arc Claymore
    Special Rules:
    Independent Character
    Fearless
    Immune to natural law: See original Necron Codex

    Differentiation Matrix:
    Allows the Void Dragon’s CC attacks to ignore invulnerable saves, and gives it a constant cover save of 4+

    Alpha Protocol Necrodermis: In the time of biotransference, the Void Dragon worked with the Crypteks, fuelling their ingenuity with its unending knowledge of the machine. Afterwards, as a gift, the Crypteks forged a new body for their guide, as a gift for his great work. Far superior to that of his brothers, the Dragon’s material form could withstand even the most punishing blows, as it should, for all gods shouldn’t have to worry about the little bolts of energy flying between their underlings destroying them.
    The Void dragon has an armour save of 2+, and an Invulnerable save of 4+.
    If the void dragon loses its final wound, all models within 6” of the model take an unavoidable S: 7 AP: 1 hit.

    Almighty: The Void Dragon can’t be removed from play or instantly killed by a weapon. It instead takes 1 wound. Snipers can only wound it on a 6. Weapons with the poison rule can only wound on a 5+ unless the weapon’s strength would confer a superior roll. If it is hit with a weapon that pays no heed to any special rule, The Void Dragon takes D3 wounds instead. It may only enter Elite, legendary or heavy support units, and be picked out by enemy fire no matter what.

    Lord of the machine: At the start of your turn, pick an enemy vehicle anywhere on the board. Roll a D6. On a Roll of 4+, you now have control over the vehicle, and all embarked models must disembark and take a Dangerous terrain test at a -1 penalty. If a model cannot disembark, remove it from play as a casualty. If the vehicle has any special rules, the original owner of the vehicle must inform you of function and application. Note: it takes 2 turns for a dreadnought to be controlled. 1st is used for killing off the guy, and on the second, roll a d6. On a 5 or higher continue as normal, 4 and under, the dreadnought is wrecked. Also, it takes 2 turns to subjugate a vehicle with Power of the Machine spirit. Super-Heavy Vehicles are subjugated on a 6, and take three turns to fully control, and during those turns, the vehicle is useless.

    Subjugator Arc:
    The Subjugator Arc counts as a shooting attack with the following profile.
    Range S AP Type
    48″ 10 2 Assault 4, tesla, arc, subjugator*
    *a weapon with the subjugator type, if it scores a penetrating hit on a vehicle, allows the player to instantly control the vehicle the next turn, but the opponent gets a +1 bonus on the vehicle damage table, which stacks with any bonus the weapon firing at the vehicle may have, or penalties the vehicle has.

    Electromagnetic Disturbance:
    All enemy deep striking units landing within 24″ of the Void Dragon take a +1 modifier to their mishap roll, and homing beacons do not function. Tyranids do not suffer from this.

    Master of the Stars
    Count the “Lord of Fire” ability as being active for all enemy units. Vehicles failing the test take a glancing hit to their side armour.

    Redeemer of Eternity:
    Any necron on the board will pass its reanimation saves on a 4+, with one wound. If the model has wargear that allows it more than 1 wound after reanimation, calculate with that as well.

    Wings:
    Can move 12” in one turn

    Arc Claymore: This ancient Necrontyr weapon was originaly forged for the Zahntek, the 14th Silent King, as a ceremonial weapon, being too large for standard combat. Possessing the most advanced tesla technology ever made, anything struck with this weapon instantly became negatively charged, causing all non-grounded things around them to be struck with intense blasts of electrostatic energy. When the C’tan came to the Necrontyr, they bestowed this weapon to the mightiest of the Star Gods, the Dragon. Due to his colossal stature, it worked as a conventional weapon, and needless to say, it was an awe inspiring tool of war.
    Sadly, it’s too old to work, so it’s just a normal close combat weapon

    Stats end.

    Ok, as you can tell, this thing is ridiculous. Its only weakness is the points and the fact that the enemy players must agree to you using this monster. My friends found a way: I can only use it on campaigns (alas, poor Mephiston, your ass is going down)

  • Avatar Image skoffs136p said 1 year, 1 month ago:

    umm, no offence, but no one in their right mind would agree to play against that.
    (I thought when you said you’d be posting the stats for the thing later, you’d be making it, you know, legal, as in, just building a C’tan shard out of the powers normally allowed, not creating your own broken rules for it and giving it maxed out stats).

    But whatever.
    Enjoy the fantasy.

    Also, what Skoffs said.

  • Avatar Image bloodhunter742p said 1 year, 1 month ago:

    i would take it on, mindshackle spam the bugger to death!

  • Avatar Image bloodhunter742p said 1 year, 1 month ago:

    also why would you want to control a wrecked vehicle? it’s a wreck it can’t do anything.

  • Avatar Image maxwelledison122p said 1 year, 1 month ago:

    Deep strike with a -1 modifier??? Surely +1 would be more effective

  • Avatar Image zetombstalker12p said 1 year, 1 month ago:

    @maxwelledison

    Yes it would. How did I oversee that?

    @skoffs

    Have you seen the Nightbringer’s original statline?
    It’s just a bit less cheesy than this, it cost LESS (360 as apposed to 420), and the only difference is the initative and skills. Otherwise, there is no difference, and since that monster had official GW rules, you couldn’t disagree to play against it. The RULES, however, are quite different, as the old C’tan could sap the life of their opponents without attacking (which the dragon cannot), and the post death badda-boom was weaker, making them less likely to kill their own men.

    And by making them into shards in the new codex, Mat Ward has only weakened them a bit, but not much, and made the hale and whole C’tan more like the omnipotent beings they were reputed to be. So, in the fact that this thing is still a regular C’tan, albeit a severely crippled one, the rules make some sense. I’m not saying it’s fair (hell no! I would be insane if I said that), but it makes a bit of sense.

    @bloodhunter
    But it is a Necron unit! Why would you do that?

    And yes, controlling a wreck is not smart, so I will just make it a penetrating hit. the modifier still counts, though.

    you forget, this is the matt ward edition of the necrons codex. necrons talk, write letters to inquisitorial girlfriends and even fight each other now :)

    I forgot. Thanks to this, I just had this creepy little image of Trayzn proposing to Valeria, and a choir of necrons singing Ode to Joy. MAT WARD, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!
