Better late than never, just stumbled across wave 2 previews for tactics. Looks like we’ve got some decent variety this time round, more feds, more klingons, romulans, dominion (including jem’hadar, breen, cardassian) and even a vulkan ship. still no sign of borg though, but with dominion and romulans i’ll let them off

There is no such thing as OP, just because you haven’t countered it doesn’t mean it can’t be done.
looks like we’re getting ferengi and proper TOS era fed ships too.
2 more previews
the Gor Portas (breen) http://heroclix.com/heroclix/star-trek-tactics-ii/star-trek-heroclix-tactics-ii-the-gor-portas/#axzz2IzoTARzF
and the ToS era USS Enterprise http://heroclix.com/heroclix/star-trek-tactics-ii/star-trek-heroclix-tactics-ii-the-uss-enterprise/#axzz2IzoTARzF
this enterprise comes in at 150 points, double that of it’s successor from the first wave starter set and looking at it’s stats i can see why. with only 6 clicks i’m not sure it’ll last too long as a flagship, but with inspiration and corbomite maneuver i think it’ll get the job done.
oh and with it being release day today we can see all of the stat cards here: http://heroclix.com/wp-content/uploads/pnp/OtherCharacterCards/Star_Trek_Tactics_II_1_22_13.pdf
I am so glad that a company is releasing star trek ships from the (TNG, DS9, Voyager) era.
I have always had a dream of reenacting the epic DS9 battles with miniatures. http://youtu.be/wwKnvRPIrl0
But why did it have to be Clix? I bought two cases and one starter pack of the 2nd release, and I was stoked to pull out the Jem’hadar fighters, and cruisers. Even the Romulan ships were amazing …
and then I pulled my first Cardassian ship. It was smaller then the Jem’hadar fighter. Then I pulled a Constitution class ship. It was smaller than a Romulan scout ship. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?
Is it so much to ask for one company to get it right? Instead I have to scavenge around ebay till I find ships from the micro machines line, or the Furuta line, just to get close to some semblance of scale.
Is there such a small group of us who love Trek and want to reenact large scale miniature battles from the latter half of the 24th Century, with appropriated scaled minis?
… oh well. Love that I now have miniature Dominion ships!
Thanks for the post and updates Bloodhunter!
no problem, and i agree with the scale thing. while it wouldn’t be as practical or necessary in the clixs game system they could have at least got it a bit closer. have you seen the Nebula class? it’s about twice the size of any other model in my small fleet. i’m still waiting for my wave 2 box to arrive, ordered it through my gaming club on saturday and the clubs not open until next saturday .
i have used some of the clixs ships along with some micro machines ones in full thrust before now (with custom built ship stats). it’s not designed with star trek specifically in mind but with it giving rules and costs for you to build you’re own ship stats there isn’t anything stopping you from making trek ships. if you want to try it out the rules are free but their main website is down at the minute so i can’t give you a link.
on the first pic, near the top right, is that an ambassador class? if so where did you get it from?
Thanks for the Info bloodhunter I will have to check out that system.
Yep. It is the Enterprise C. Its from the Micro Machine line. You can find it in the Micro Machines Star Trek Limited Collector’s Set II, or I have seen it sold separately on ebay.
just got my box today, split a counter top with a friend (6 ships each).
i drew the the defiant, intrepid, d’kyr, valdore, talvath and kornak. he got a ferengi ship, a couple of cardassians, a dominion crusier, a romulan and a vulkan. that romulan team ability came in handy a couple of times
