how different is this from the Original VtM. I used to run this back in the 90′s loved the 1st and 2nd ed’s but when it went over to requiem it became pants.

    OK.

First of Requiem and Masquerade are not the same setting nor systems.

V20 is a nostalgia collected edition. Consider it a definitive version of VtM based upon VtM Revised.

Since the announcement of the new edition of VtM, V20 is now officially the 4th edition of the game.

V20 has some mechanical fixes here and there, but is essentially the same as Revised.

Requiem, and the rest of that setting for Chronicles of Darkness, is still being made and is currently in its 2nd edition.

I believe in terms of rules it’s based on 3rd ed V:TM, which was the last edition before WW blew up the World of Darkness for the relaunch, and is now considered a 4th ed with the upcoming relaunch classed as 5th ed. It isn’t bound to the old meta-plot and you can pick and choose elements from it as you wish.

The last book for V20, Beckett’s Jyhad Diary, will form the jumping point for the metaplot of V5.
