I’ll be going. I have pre ordered some gear from Gripping Beast so it would be rude not to.

I think I might get some battlefoam and hopefulyl some minis I can use as bandits for my Pathfinder games.

Does anyone know what the theme is this year?

Definitely going, just ordered tickets this week! 4th or 5th time but really looking forward to it. Hope to see the guys and some fellow BoW community members this year. thought I might have to miss it this year but managed to work round it. If you can get there definitely recommend it. As someone who got back into the hobby after a long time away a few years ago it was a real eye opener to see how wide the hobby was outside of GW games, exactly what BoW does online:) hope to meet a few of you there.

    Pete

Hmmm. So what’s this hobby lab about then guys?

  • Avatar Image killcrazy54p said 1 year, 1 month ago:

I’ve just got my tickets sorted for the day!

Pretty excited, as I’ve never been to a show this big before (usually go to Border Reiver every year in Newcastle)

Catching the train from Newcastle at 6:55am! To the show, then 5:30pm Train home.
Wish I could make a weekend out of it but the cost meant I’ve had to do it this way.

    Looking forward to it :-)

is there anything in particular you guys want to get while at salute?

i’m going to go hunting down star trek clixs tactics, warmachine starter set and cheap IG stuff.

Looking for a few things actually!

    In order of checking

    1. Resin Khador Behemoth. I want to see what bits are resin!
    2. Some bandit minis for use in my Pathfinder games
    3. Some pirate minis, perhaps including a purchase of Cutlass
    4. Monsters for use in PathfinderDnD (trolls mostly)
    5. Cool looking single minis that I am sure I could work into any fantasy game
    6. Flip maps for roleplaying games

I’m also picking up a large order from Hasslefree. If anyone has played the Pathfinder Kingmaker AP I am building the hex map from that, with magnetic fog of war!

I’ve been planning this for a while
I’ll be getting quite a bit from Gripping Beast for my Saga games
a few bits for infinity , something from GCT for Bushido, one or two models from Hasslefree a limited edition from Studio Mcvey. that’s just the top of my list, there is quite a bit I want to see before I buy.
I’m also bringing along a friend who will buying scenery and terrain for our club.
I think I’m going to have a brilliant day.

Today was brilliant, I got everything i wanted and then some!! (lots of FoW, lots of warmachine, star trek clixs, warpath corporation vets and all the rest :D ) Nice meeting the beasts too even if it was brief.

Well well well, what an awesome day! Got to chat with the Perrys, Allessio, Paul ‘Fat Bloke’ Sawyer from warlord, the dudes from mantic,(didnt see orky though, boo) got to hug a stormtrooper (dont tell the wife though), and of course our BoW friends! Shame it was on the same day as an event for the guys getting ready for the marathon as their was a little but of anomosity/name calling towards our stalwart gaming friends, but hey you cant have everything.

Although I have got to learn about a lot of game systems over the years, actually getting to see products up close gave me a better appreciation of what to get, such as the amera plastics and the world works terraclips stuff (amazing in the flesh, well cardboard).

The department seems something to keep an eye out for, as does bolt action when it comes out in august.

All in all an amazing day, but im glad I went with a budget.

Great day. I could have done with 2 days really as there were a lot of participation games I never got round to trying out.
Got everthing on my list though and a few goodies not on the list. I got some great sprays by Modelmates, thanks to BoW Justin for showing me them.
Got to see a lot of stuff that I will be buying in the near future, good job I took a note book.
Said hello to some of the BoW guys.
They looked like they were working hard so we should get some good video reports this week

which goody bag do you guys think was the best? i think it was Stafford Games (i think it was the name of the stall). I got some camo netting, chocolate (always good) and some lasercut terrain for FoW (well 15mm scale) as well as other less gaming related stuff. but c’mon, free terrain and chocolate is pretty good :)
