so after getting to grips with warmachine i’ve decided to start a hordes army and i’ve chosen hordes. nxt was what army… after much soul searching i decided on legion of everblight. now what to buy? for the sake of money and future expanding i picked up E.Thagrosh and 2 starterboxes. so now i have a 35pt spam list of basically e.thagrosh, 8 shredders and 2 carnies. Imo a nice and simple.army to start with that can be absolutely visious on his feat turn. what nxt? i was thinking of picking up.a.least 1 raek + deathstalker

Blighted archers are referred to as the Wu-Tang Clan in my local and for a good reason those units are amazing. A unit of Warspears and a unit of Raptors wouldn’t be bad either all three give you amazing options on the flank.

    Shepperd, Forsaken, Succubus

Instead of the second starter set I’d have bought a heavy warbeast pack and the proteus upgrade. Get some magnets on and you get four extremely potent heavy warbeasts to choose from: Carnivean, Ravagore, Scythean and Proteus

Typhon seems like a good addition to E.Thagrosh, three hard to hide from sprays with great range due to the feat.

Legions infantry seem very tied to what caster you take, the Lylyths for example seem to like Striders. But yeah a lot of people just seem to run a lot of warbeasts and the support solos.

@ baummonster – i actually thought of that would have cost around €50 plus whereas i got a carnie + 4 shredders for €44

@baummonster has a good idea getting fury management pieces for your beast-heavy list next. Everblight in general seems to run a lot of beasts and infantry only for support or interference; if you are used to your list you should know what you have trouble with and what gaps are in the list. We could help much more if you let us know what functions you are looking for. Are you looking a cheap tarpit, deadly ranged power, a cagey melee unit that can be relied on to make the charge, or something else?

Well the starterbox content is awesome, probably the best one available, but the heavy warbeast box would have given you access to a whole new line of tools. You almost never see people fielding two Carniveans or huge amounts of Shredders. (That being said, I have seen a match with like 10-15 shredders. Surprisingly effective as well, but I guess it’s still primarily a “for the lulz” list)

If you’re looking at infantry, besides the almost compulsory hint at Nyss Striders or Archers, I strongly suggest a unit of Swordsmen. For the point costs of a single carnivean, you’d get a unit full of such melee goodness, it’s almost impossible to describe in a few sentences
