Riding to battle in style. Why should an Assyrian King watch the battle on foot, or atop a horse, when he can ride into battle in a plush looking Chariot with a retainer holding a nice parasol over his head. Of course you would hope he was using the opportunity to study the battlefield, not relax!
And this is the Kisir Sharruit Regiment doing the dirty work. One of these regiments would be made up of many different peoples from around the empire but always commanded by an Assyrian veteran. Well drilled and heavily armoured, they were a force to be reckoned with.
