The Telegraph has put together a rather comprehensive report on how The Battle of Waterloo unfolded 200 years ago. If you've ever been interested in the tactics of the day then you can follow it, a little like a blog or live feed, to see how events unfolded...

Field of Waterloo

The Battle Unfolds

Everything is included in the feed of things as they happened with some fantastic pieces of artwork showing off famous depictions of the event. Not only do they go into great detail about how the battle was fought but give you some interesting historical information about the day and its main protagonists too...

Quelle Affaire

Welington

Waterloo Square

One of the things that strikes you as you read is just how intense it would have been for all involved from the lowliest trooper all the way up to the Generals themselves. Everything hung on a few key moments and it's fascinating to see how it all played out.

Scotland Forever

La Haye Sainte

While the battle at this point in the day would have been over it they even provided some interesting details about the aftermath. I for one didn't know what a Waterloo Smile was but it certainly adds another grisly note to the whole affair.

As well as giving you a chance to learn about the battle it also makes for a fascinating opportunity for us as Wargamers to re-fight this particular big moment in the history of warfare. Be it through Warlord Games' Black Powder and their variety of sets or any other gaming system you might want to mention you have the chance to see how history might have changed.
