A Look Inside The Iron Kingdoms Unleashed Adventurers Kit!

November 21, 2014 by brennon

Privateer Press released information on the Iron Kingdoms Unleashed Adventurers Kit which is a great starting point for role-playing adventuring in the lands of Immoren and the untamed wilds to the west. Well, now we get a look inside the box!

Box (Front)

Box (Rear)

We’ll kick things off with what’s exactly in this awesome boxed set…

  • Rulebook
  • Scenario Guide
  • 4 Pregenerated Characters
  • 14 Plastic Miniatures
  • 9 Double-Sided Map Tiles
  • 4 Sheets Of Tokens
  • Dice
  • Ruler

…so that’s a pretty good start when you’re thinking about getting into a role-playing game. Pretty much everything you could have needed when running the adventure has been thought of.

First up are the books. The books break down into the Rulebook that has everything you need to play the game and then of course the Scenario Book that will be in the hands of the Games Master so he or she can run the adventure and keep your heroes guessing. The Rulebook contains additional information for advancing your heroes and of course when it comes to the full release of the game you’ll be able to take the characters onwards.

The Scenario Book contains a neat adventure called Hogwash that will be made for the four heroes that you get in the set and now seems a good point to talk about them!

Character Sheets

Instead of just being one sheet cut and paste heroes the actual character booklets will include everything you’d want to know about your hero. As well as the important stats and such you’ll also find information on their motivations, relationships and mannerisms too so you can get immersed in the world a bit more.

Alongside their character sheets they also get some neat looking miniatures AND the enemies get them too. They look really nice and it’s great to see that they didn’t just go with tokens or cardboard standees instead. I can see Hordes players wanting to pick these up for their own factions too.

Last but not least are the map tiles that you’ll be using alongside the tokens. There’s no word on how sturdy these components are within the box but I would imagine if they come with a selection of pop out tokens that they’re going to be made of some kind of card stock material.

Unleashed is looking like a neat stepping stone into the world of Iron Kingdoms role-playing!
