Darrell takes a good look at the Abyssal Dwarf King from Mantic Games.
He would be dwarf sized, if he wasn’t standing on those steam punk legs of his. As a normal dwarf collector I would love to see this guy die lol.

This guy has just about comes close to being sci-fi that he might fit well into a forge father army.

One of Mantic’s best models. I’m a big Abyssal Dwarf fan and the entire army range is quite good (for being evil). Did paint this guy up in obsidian armor and he looks quite amazing, buuuuut, the Half-breed is much better at nearly the same point cost. My friends, family and I regularly play Kings of War and the Abyssal Dwarf army is tough as nails. Especially when you use first edition war engine rules. The Decimators and now Gargoyles are the sword of the army, the shield is Immortal Guard (with shields, naturally). The Half-breed and Obsidian Golem are great hero choices and the Angkor Heavy Mortar is ace. Ronnie and the guys at Mantic mentioned Abyssal Dwarfs getting something more, perhaps in February…perhaps Beast of War could get the lowdown on when some of the new units will be arriving?
Not a bad sculpt. I agree this is close to a sci-fi styled figure and with some slight modifications definitely a candidate for forge fathers character type figure.

The only problem is he’s all one piece. If he came with a separate head, then with a quick head swap you could have a sci-fi or an “ordinary” Dwarf version.
Still… you could file off the spikes…
I actually chipped his head and replaced it with one I liked better. Another time it was off with his legs to make an Overlord on Great Abyssal. Not all that hard to do and worth it. His armor is quite nice. To make him a bit less Sci-fi I chopped off the hose or coil on his left arm. It makes a big difference.
