Ronnie and Andy talk about the new edition of the Kings of War game… this time it’ll be in Hardback!
Not a fantasy player but I do like those goblins.
Hardback book is a good move, its kind of expected these days for a game thats going to stick around, and keeping the core rules and lists free for download still leaves the low cost entry to the game open.
Always looking for new painting projects so any dragons/monsters or whatever are always welcome!
@gaarew – I think I heard you mentioned here, so I’m going to jump in and say this before @theunnamableone gets to…no more Rackham wolves for you! Heheheh…
Hearing about new Abyssal Halfbreeds being made interests me quite a bit – I had an idea about that (WARNING: wishlisting ahead) which probably I’m putting forward too late to be considered but hopefully in a future version we could see a multipart restic kit with a generic body in the shape of a bull, but patches on the surface that look like scales (reasons for this and other things to follow) and separate parts:
- separate feet with a choice of bull hooves or clawed dragon feet - separate tail with a choice of stylised devil tail (as on the current models) or lizard tail or even a scorpion stinger tail - separate torso and head for interchangeability (but no choice per body or you’d have wasted parts, so just two or three different designs for a five man unit perhaps with weapon arms as part of the torso) - a couple of ‘gutplate’ designs to cover the exposed bull front if possible.
All this is because these are Abyssal Dwarves, not followers of Hashut – the Abyss in KOW seems to be basically a version of Hell, so you have the ability to build mutated Abyss creatures for the fluff in KOW or the specifically Chaos Dwarf Bull Centaurs for crossover needs by using the bull hooves and devil tail (plus some putty to smooth out the scaly patches) without wasting too many bits which hopefully will keep the kit price down (you’d only have some spare tails and feet in the end).
Awesome! Any ideas how much is the hardback going to be? …and monster scale, what size we talking here? Sounds great!
I think the rulebook was going to be around the £15 mark- not sure how accurate that info now is, though.
Can’t wait Then i can build an army
