Last two hours of the Kickstarter campaign and it has been highly successful! The Cortex Prime RPG is funded! This is meant to be fully backwards compatible with Cortex Classic (Serenity RPG, Battlestar Galactica RPG, Supernatural RPG) and Cortex Plus (Leverage RPG, Smallville RPG, Marvel Heroic RPG, Firefly RPG, Cortex Plus Hacker’s Guide) games…as well [...]
I’ve only played a few games of SP2 but I think it’s an excellent game. I have played a lot more Chain of Command, which in my opinion is the best platoon level WW2 game available, and SP2 uses a lot of CoC’s mechanics and concepts. Too Fat Lardies games tend to use unconventional rules [...]
stunning build so far – cant believe the level of detail youve gone into! some really great ideas in this too… those coiled hoses for the spinklers, the wiring in the ducts, the variety of doors. top notch work @soapdodger looking forward to seeing more progress
Got the robot arms done and wired up. I made one sprinkler robot arm and one grabber arm. They are only blue tacked in place. Here is a shot from further away looking at the structure. I then got some plastic H beam. And made the outer exoskeleton to the lab. I placed some supports [...]
I got stuck in and bent the pipe and used the lollipop stick for mounts. I also decided to change the diameter of the water pipe after it left the manifold this would also indicate that water is used elsewhere in the system. I done this by using the same pipe but drilled out in [...]
What does every lab need? A fancy computer screen of course! Ok so not so fancy I made this as pictured so that a photo of a computer screen can be placed in later after painting. I wanted some exposed cables and feeds coming into the lab from the ground. This is tricky and is [...]
Long-time no speak, I have been working on other projects and got terrain builders block on this one. Been working on Doom miniatures. Sadly, parts got over sprayed so went yellow in the time it took for me to get back to this, shouldn’t affect the final finish. Got stalled at the door section so [...]

With help from the eldest Mini-Tchrin the Silver Tower minis are all assembled. And the grot scuttlings are all based out (photo was from halfway through that). And most importantly, just completed our first game (which I completely forgot to get a picture of!). I’ve played before, but it’s a good game, simple rules with [...]
I love my Infinity. It is a great system with gorgeous models. I think it’s actually a good place to start the hobby, if that’s really what you’re looking for. There’s enough depth to get the beginner started and yet not bore the committed hobbyist. For instance, I got bored painting a single box set [...]
On the Cork tile I drew a 30mm grid, the approximately the size of the Kingdom Death board grid. I used the tiles and shuffled them around to make best use of the space, then labelled what each was and cut them out. Use a sharp knife and make several passes over the cork, it [...]
Nice update, again looking really neat and I think a great choice of colours they go really well together
Oh and the book is definitely worth a read if you haven’t before, it makes fun of itself and the warhammer world just as BB should
If accessibility is an important consideration, and the game looks like it would otherwise interest you, then I’d definitely recommend getting Kick Off for Guild Ball. I wouldn’t want to put anyone off getting one of the Infinity starters. The minis are lovely and it’s a fine game. It’s just that for me (and my [...]

Went to my first Warhammer Fest yesterday. Had a great time. They set up small gaming stands in a room to show off the new 40k combat and moving rules. I liked it and might get the upcoming box set. I didn’t manage to get as much hobby done mostly as a result of the [...]
For this project I used the following:
Sharp Exacto knife
this is a great topic! I’m just starting out in wargaming and miniature painting. I bought the “Storm of Sigmar” box to get started and I’m almost done painting the Stormcast figs. I got this as something to introduce my kids to, instead of having them sit on the computer all the time. I was [...]
I’d be willing to bet that pre-assembled plastics would mean outsourcing production to China. Not that GW wouldn’t necessarily do it, just that it would mean moving things out of house which would bring complications. I think the snap-fit mono-poses and lack of options are more to do with accessibility than with encouraging you to [...]
Thanks! Didn’t realize there was a blood bowl novel, may have to check that out. Between putting together shelves and putting things on shelves and preparing food I actually managed to get some time in this weekend. I have a little more fabric/leather to do on a few models, the balls and I may take [...]
Infinity made a couple of great starters in Red Veil and Ice Storm. They did a particularly good job with the fold out terrain and unique beginner campaigns in each set that draws the players deeper and deeper into the rules gradually. The models are really great as well, but this is really not a [...]
@halfmileduck great work there man. Fabius Bile looks great, and I really like the work you’ve done on the rest of the band.
Also, rather appropriate paper to be spraying on, in the first pic!

Just like to thank BOW for mentioning my name and the British anglo-zulu soldiers last Thursday. My standing in the house now with the kids is good because I’m now “famous” on the internet. Obviously my standing will revert back to its normal low level soon enough but thanks for the couple of days of [...]
Very nice! I like the purple and gold – am planning on doing an Emperor’s Byblows (the cheap knock off successor chapter to the Emperor’s Children) with a similar colour scheme.
You’re right about gold trim being a pain – it should be more fun to paint but it isn’t.
Never played either, but just picked up Chosen Men from Osprey! It’s a bit bigger (model count) than I expected for a skirmish game, but the rules seems solid so far. It’s played on a 4×4 feet table. I dont really have much interest in the period other than visuals, and I’ve watched Sharpe’s. So [...]
