Got a chance to put some more shading and highlighting on the hair, skin, armour and so on. I’ve got to do something with the weapon soon but all in all working with glazes is at least a lot of fun. Looking forward to trying it out on a more contemporary model after Malya here! [...]
Yeah I think a couple of months got added on through the PM problems and they wasn’t happy with a sculpt or some part and had it redone, like what Evilstu said by KS standards nothing serious and they keep us informed all the way
I am really glad you put these up here I was looking at them in your thread and I was going to comment but I wanted to give a full commentary, but I have so much to do, and I have to get paint today! So I will get to them tonight on the [...]
Hello everyone. I’ve been out the hobby for much of the summer but I’m back on now. I’ve painted up the Dark Souls core set. It took me about 3 weeks and I aimed for a good standard tabletop finish. I’m afraid I’ve had camera issues (I lost the charger) so I don’t have any [...]
Here’re a few shots from the board. Executioner Smough will see you now:
Now that’s all done the waiting game starts for the expansions. Thanks for indulging me.
We’re onto the main bosses now. More NMM gold this time with Dragonslayer Ornstein and Executioner Smough. I’m really happy with the way they turned out. Finally we have the Dancer of the Boreal Valley. Sadly Steamforged had to change her pose close to release and I don’t think this version was as popular. Painting [...]
Next up are the Winged Knight: – and the Titanite Demon: I tried a NMM gold approached on the Winged Knight which I’m pleased wth. I redid the Titanite Demon after my first effort. He’s the only miniature with a true metallic and was very easy to drybrush. He’s also the only miniature I redid. [...]
Now we’re onto the meat and potatoes – the bosses. Well, the mini bosses. Here are the Boreal Outrider Knight:
- and the Gargoyle:
The Gargoyle was a lighter job than the others because in game he fights outside. Still the photo is quite dark.
Next up the Silver Knights and the Sentinels. Though these chaps are clad in silver armour I didn’t want to use a metallic paint. I thought it would be too bright. So I just went with a standard preshade and some heavy drybrushing. I’m happy with the result. I considered doing a bit more with [...]
Now we’re onto the chaff. The hollows are standard fodder in the game but if you’re cocky and underestimate them your fights can get quite tense. I painted them coming into the light so their backs are uninteresting.
Questions! 1. WHY, is your favourite game your favourite? Well my favourite game is actually my own. Xor’Veil As to why well I have been developing it for a long time but the thing I love is the infinite role-playing potential. Like I like the idea of Neo-Noir gaming more than standard swords and sorcery. [...]
Indeed. There will be a 2.5 upgrade available with many of the options but not all. Not sure if I will replace my MK2 with a MK3 or just buy a extra printer.
@caladors I think there are other people in it too and there may possibly be some sort of plot but something distracts me from all that… can’t think what Sorry to hear about your Airbrush mate, it’s a real downer when things like that happen. Looking forward to seeing the mystery stuff… you have me [...]
Well the battle lines are drawn and Armies selected, ready for the battle tomorrow. Matty chose to take Cryx and I went with Cygnar. Matty selected Asphyxious (1) as his Caster with a Reaper, Slayer. Deathripper Cankerworm and a Skarlock Thrall as his battlegroup. Troops wise he went for a Minimum unit of Revenant Crew [...]
My tank reference books first . Yes some are outdated with grainy photos and dodgy captions ,( your 70s era Squadron / Signal , Osprey books ) , but their like old friends , Many a tank kit has been built or kit bashed to look like pictures / drawings in those books . I [...]
Yep… Yep… I can see why that may be gaining viewership. Alright, my pledge! I WILL! Have all of the walkway stuff done up this week. No matter what it takes… Even though my airbrush died, even though everything is up in flames… But as for questions, I have decided now is the time! So [...]
Do you know the pilot in Iron Wars?
When your Mech is destroyed, the cockpit is ejected. If your pilot survives on the battlefield, you can pilot other unmanned Mechs.
Only in Kickstarter
This is a really scary question!
Thete is surviving the fire etc.
Then the insurance battle!
It could be over a year before this even becomes s serious thought.
Hence why I think warzan’s answer stole it!
Kids 1st. have not got any but totally see it.
Probably my 20mm stuff; WW2 late war German and Arab-Israeli armies. But I might look on it as an opportunity to diversify into some new periods and scales completely outside what I am already invested in. At the moment I can’t justify dropping too much cash on new stuff when I have so much stashed [...]
Definitely the £3k worth of Tabletop World scenery I own… And that Tau Manta that I had.
Seriously though, I have no idea. It just doesn’t bear thinking about, because in my eyes anything that is painted is irreplaceable. I would probably replace the board games first
Good spot, I’ve only had the Mk2 for a few months and I really like it. From the sounds of the things upgrading is going to be a problem as they have all new motors and a motherboard amongst all the other upgrades
