September 2014 Marks The Start Of Level 7 [Invasion]!

Privateer Press recently announced that this September would be the time where you can get your hands on Level 7 [Invasion] and try and hold back the alien forces threatening Earth...
The guys at Privateer Press are making sure that you're fully briefed for the ground situation as they have both a tutorial video (above) and a link to their rules all ready to go. You can find the rules PDF HERE so you can have a read and get prepped for the inevitable invasion!

now I wonder is PP testing the water in bringing out a near future wargame by doing a board game first?

PP doing an Xcom-a-like would be the thing of the year for me.
You do realize Fantasy Flight are bringing out their own XCom game this year. Battle of the games!
I do feel a bit sorry for PP with their timing of this one. As the boardgaming world is currently frothing at the mouth for Fantasy Flight’s XCom, this one may get overlooked by a fair few people. Personally I’ll be holding off to see reviews of XCom from GenCon and see if it’s as good as we all hope it will be.
This isn’t your daddy’s Risk game. I am old enough to remember when Axis and Allies was the most complicated Risk style board game around, and it isn’t very complicated. I like the evolution of what I call ‘high-level’ board games (e.g., the BSG game, Firefly). I like the fact this one is co-op also.
