Laser cut mdf stuff is catching on – lot of potential
Yeah, its seems to be all the rage now.
Doesn’t look so much sci-fi as it dose undecorated. That isn’t a complaint though, it looks like a good set to base any dungeoncrawler on if you add the right details -fantasy, modern, or sci-fi.
Yep. Print your own stuff and glue it on. Works for all genres.
You can buy sticker paper and print it on that. no need for gluing.
I’m not a fan of this. MDF can’t be recycled whereas cardboard can. If I was going to go to the trouble of making MDF bits I’d build in margins to model the walls. Also cutting MDF is really unhealthy. Now if someone made other styles of spaceships and some rules for boarding actions (from recyclable materials) then I might be interested.
Laser cut MDF isn’t unhealthy, its the dust from cutting it with a saw thats carcinogenic.
No dust from laser cut pieces.
Laser cut plywood would be a viable alternative, but there’s more chance of it breaking up through delamination, and it would be more expensive.
To be honest , your not going to have to recycle this…it is solid scenery , and will last you a while.
MDF isnt as harmful as say plastic which needs oil to be produced.
I like it.
I don’t see anything particularly “Space” about this other than the obvious use for Hulk. Looks like it should work very nicely for dungeons too if decorated appropriately, or the cellars of Parliament for all your looming Guy Fawkes games 🙂
