This November is bringing a new twist to Magic the Gathering in the form of a hybrid card game meets board game experience, Explorers of Ixalan.

Explorers of Ixalan allows up to four players to face off in a new multiplayer version of Magic. If you're fans of formats like Commander, then this is definitely one for you.

Players will get to play one of four, sixty-card decks, featuring a great variety colour/playstyle combos. There is the black/white deck, two tri-colour decks and a blue/green deck to offer plenty of options for gameplay. The twist of the game comes with the tile component of the game.

Tiles will be face down at the start of the game and players will need to explore (flip up) tiles as the game progresses as you search for the lost city. Each tile will feature different game effects that will impact the game, whether it be to an individual player or the group.

These effects may be just for a turn or may remain in play for the rest of the game, which totally changes the game experience each time you play.

Are you excited about this new variation for Magic?
