We've been following these folks for a while now and it's great to see Miniature Wargaming: The Movie, back on Kickstarter looking for additional funding to help them finish off the project. This is a grand undertaking and we can see it being a neat window into the lives of those who love tabletop games...

Miniature Wargaming The Movie Special Edition

The film is going to be following the history of Miniature Wargaming as a hobby and a craft from the view point of those within the industry and those that play the games - more often than not there is a crossover!

Famous Faces

It will feature interviews with many different companies and individuals giving you an insight into the world.

The Interviewed

They have also had plenty of help from a whole range of different companies who have come on to talk about their life within the hobby and where it's gone. They will even be following the exploits of two tournament gamers as they head off to challenge others with dice and tape measure in hand.

Some of the Companies

Of course the movie is going to be available in a range of different formats but the big one is the Special Edition version which you see at the top of the page.

Special Edition Models

This will come with some very nicely sculpted miniatures which you can add to your collection including...

H.G.Wells Miniature

Grand Master Dwarf

Dark Council Miniature

Celt Chieftain Miniature

Roman General Miniature

That's a fair bit of metal for you to be working through as you watch the movie in the background. As mentioned before they are going on quite the journey here exploring all manner of different things.

Funding The Movie

The campaign itself is looking to fund a number of different things and this will include...

  • Licenses
  • Post-Production Editing
  • Wages
  • Travel Expenses
  • Film Festivals
  • Film Premier Costs
  • ...and of course creating the end product for you in physical form!

We'll have an interview with Joseph Piddington from the team on The Weekender soon so watch out for that to get a bit more information on how this all came to be and where they hope it will head in the future.

Will you be keeping up to date with where this is heading?
