Home Raiders Enters Final Few Days On Kickstarter

Vesper-On are entering the final few days of their Home Raiders Kickstarter. If you're looking to get in on this charming skirmish game that can be played anywhere you like then now is your chance.
The Pledge
The game comes with a very nice starter set that features the New Lilliput and Gremlin factions alongside all the tokens, cards, dice and everything else in between you'd need. You also get the exclusive RAF The Pilot model.
Other factions have been unlocked including the Fair Folk and Lords of Dust with the Freeloaders next on the list when they hit the £30,000 mark with their stretch goals.
Better Than Babar?
Maybe you'll remember that particular cartoon elephant? If not, no worries, just know that Mortimer the Buccaneer is probably better than him and he was unlocked as a mid-campaign bonus.
As you can see he has been render up and is looking rather spiffing indeed as a model. I particularly like the rather snarky looking parrot on his shoulder who is very pleased with himself.

Yes I’ve pledged (expensive month I’ve also Pledged Route 666) and I’m sooo sad to see the backers leaving this project.
..no, I use Mr. Sheen! Yes, but it also cost me a few days in the doghouse and a bottle of mead!

Man! now we’re even below the last unlocked stretch goal money-wise. So disheartening. I still think it’s a great idea and I can’t wait to play this with my two girl (age 5 & 7)
Pledging from the onset and following throughout – I am lacking the understanding of why others are not seeing the potential in this as I am. Rarely does a game really spike my imagination so much and appeal to so broad a spectrum. It just seems like so many people who may have passed this over have missed a great opportunity. That being said – I imagine once this is rolled out retail – and it starts getting played – it will massively increase.

I can’t speak for anyone but myself, but I was a day one backer and I can tell you why I pulled my support from this project: 1. Vesper have been rather lazy with this KS. Few updates, little presence in the comments, just not a very fun KS really. 2. Vesper are not willing to bend to what their backers want. For example, many backers wanted the option of picking the factions in their starter pack (this was a big one). And they were not willing to change unpopular elements of their concept- the Peter Pan look-a-like for example… Read more »
Although I’m not personally interesting in this game, I think it’s a cracking idea, and I hope it does well. It ought to be a great way to ease new victims, er, I mean players, into wargaming.
And that elephant guy does look amazing!
*Incoming rant!* Damn, how I wanted to like this game… The idea seems to be so cool, fresh and cute. And boy oh boy, did the people at Vesper-on Games drop the ball on this one! }:/ Each new update robbed the idea of its charm. Now it’s just an over-glorified kids’ game with stiff and uninspired minis, the smaller of which are the size of a SM terminator. I don’t want to show it to my kids, they will make fun of me. “So… This is the hobby you devote so much time to?!” Anyone up for specific gripes?… Read more »
I took part to bring this game to life, and it is. To me its great -, the perfect building block to introduce the kids (my youngest being 4). As a parent I don’t like the idea of blood in games or introducing younger kids to a game with big guns and death etc…Something else would be much better in my opinion – and this is it. But I completely see why other gamers who like the concept are finding this kickstarter tedious etc… I love this game because I want to play with my family – If i didn’t… Read more »
Kids these days hey? When I was that age I would have only been interested in a game with guns and blood lol! We had cartoons about fighting and warfare (he-man?). But these days…. the don’t like hunting incase you hurt the fluffy bunnies, and even here in Wales, the primary school boys are playing tag rugby! Tag rugby! Lol
But seriously I take your points, if vesper wish to regime it more towards the ‘parent and child’ market then hats off to them- we certainly need more ‘entry games’ to get them addicted to toy soldiers young lol
