Odin’s Ravens has had a rough few years and was the target for a Kickstarter that never came to fruition. However, Osprey Publishing have now picked up the game by Thorsten Gimmler and will now be publishing it next year in February 2016…
The game is a card based affair which works well with families and gaming groups alike. You take on the roles of Odin’s Ravens, Huginn and Muninn as they race around the world reporting to Odin on what they’ve seen. Each player will be trying to win the favour of Odin by being the one to get furthest along the ‘track’.
Of course it’s not just a game of placing cards and there are some tricks you can play to mess with the other ravens progress. Osprey are working with Gimmler to make the game a reality and tweak a few of the rules along the way making it something to pick up for fans of the game old and new.
I love all things Viking and this immediately jumped out at me. The artwork by Johan Egerkrans is fantastic and I think really helps give the game a new lease of life.
It’s also another great feather in the cap when it comes to board games by Osprey who are slowly but surely getting into this market.
