Explore The Fantastic World of Paragon – The Broken Continuum

I love it when you see a plan coming together. We had the opportunity to chat with G3 Games & More while at Adepticon last spring. They were there offering demos of their hybrid steampunk/fantasy/sci fi miniatures game, Paragon- The Broken Continuum.

As it’s likely become evident by now, I LOVE the artwork that goes into concepts for a game and this one drew me in immediately.

The art direction was absolutely stunning and the idea of the game bridging so many genres was really brilliant. It’s so great to see so many different styles of characters within a game, so what appeals to some, may not to others. While at Adepticon, g3 had a really lovely art book and paper standees to try out the game – which I’m sad to say, we did not have the opportunity to squeeze in (perhaps this year?).

And now, we are starting to see the miniatures taking shape from the art with a couple 3D renders.

To this point there’s a rough and tumble Gunslinger and a really lovely Elf Legionnaire, which I think they did a great job capturing the feel of their art in the 3D render. It will be great to see how these end up translating to sculpts when all is said and done.

As I eluded to earlier, this game has a rich storyline that explores the likelihood of crossover in various gaming genres as we know them. This interesting world also allows for both casual and tournament level play, and perhaps even more interestingly – multiple player games of three players and more..

If you like to follow progress on newer games, this is one to watch. You can even join a playtest group through the Facebook page, where you can have a read through the rules and contribute to the game’s development.

What do you think of this interesting miniatures game hybrid?
