3D printing is quickly gaining ground in homes around the world. In ours, we currently have two 3D printers and looking to add an additional one. One campaign that helped influence me was the Winterdale terrain on Kickstarter.
I backed it and was amazed at the renders I saw of each item of terrain, I only had one problem no printer. Yes, it was like being a kid at Christmas with the really cool toy only you can’t play with it because you didn’t get the right batteries.
A year or so later and printers have come down in price and we purchased our first one. Now I am looking at printing all kinds of good stuff. Printable Scenery has taken to Indiegogo this time for their newest project, RAMPAGE – 3D Printable Scenery Building System.
This is a modular dungeon system where you can print many different pieces to create your own unique creation. The system uses a special OpenLOCK system which uses clips to snap the pieces together to create solids terrain pieces.
There are six different “perk” sets which include your standard style dungeon walls and floors, but also have special Necro packs so you can print some special terrain for that all metal horror army.
There are some really nice stretch goals available and if you missed the previous campaigns you will have a chance to jump on those as well. 3D printing is here to stay and is growing by leaps and bounds. Keep an eye out on Beasts of War for more on 3D printing in the future.
Do you 3D print?
