Pirate style flyer for Marauders/Orks

When I heard about this competition I thought brilliant because I love scratch building creations :D they are so fun to make. This is my pirate style flyer this is a new design idea from very few existing bits, which helps towards it being a scratch built. The few existing parts that went into making the bases of this was an assault on black reach Deffkopta and a couple parts from the imperial defence line. The front was a defence line shield turned upside down that has being trimmed down a bit. I’ve been solidly working on this for round a week. Most of it is made from plasticard that’s been cut up with both craft knives and scissors. The pipes at the back are made from old pen tubes and plasticard tubing. Other materials are things like wire from broken old headphones, modelling chain, of course green stuff, metal rod, magnets and basically anything useful I could find by rummaging around in my box of saved bits of random things (everything comes in useful eventually :D) Once I added all the plates and got the main desired shape I thought what’s pirateier than a massive cannon! That was made from an old pen which seemed about the right with bits of plasticard and green stuff sculpting to make a shell feed there. Adding armour plates to the model was time consuming but fun as I had to cut and chip each individual plate and spikey shape on the model. But the rivets took a lot longer they were either bits of plasticard rod chopped finely or thin strips cut into small squares. The crane was made using a winch I found and lots of plasticard tubing + chain and wire. I looked at pictures of robotic arms for inspiration here. A lot of the model has a few magnetised options that help with the accessibility of it. A couple other cool pars are the sail / flag give it character. + The diorama base I made I wanted to have a bit of humour. Like the minion pointing to this large ship traveling over their heads and the 2 others working away on another plate for another vehicle with the one drilling away. (I used a real broken drill bit for this.) and the minion holding the plate not exactly watching how close he is to the drill bit.
