Cryptmaster Kazgarh on the Ark of Broken Oaths
Add to Favorites
When the Necrons turned on their C\'tan masters, the mighty beings were broken into shards of their former glory. Most were imprisoned, the necrons fearful of their power. One Cryptek among them did not fear this power. Instead, Kazgarh was fascinated by the seemingly limitless energy of the C\'tan.The Ark of Broken Oaths is his masterpiece, a heavily modified Ghost Ark powered by the so-called \"Quintessence Engine\", which is both a power source and a prison for a multitude of C\'tan Shards. In battle, Kazgarh floats above the battlefield, imperious and majestic. His ark emits a low moan of despair, until he exhorts the machine to give more and more power, draining the enslaved shards. Only then does the moan become a wail of rage and agony. This drained energy is put to a variety of uses, including the Ark\'s Epoch Shielding and its Particle Scourge weaponry. A grinning Necron skull caps the prow, forever a symbol of Necrontyr dominance over the C\'tan, and over the galaxy. The Ark also contains a failsafe which will split open the Quintessence Engine if Kazgarh should ever be destroyed. Even he is unsure what would occur, but the laws of physics would almost certainly cease to exist in the area, perhaps in the entire system, and living flesh would be melted to slag.
