August 9, 2016 by brennon

Board game maestro Eric Lang and artist Adrian Smith have teamed up once again for the spiritual successor to Blood Rage called Rising Sun, a game set amidst the mysticism of Ancient Japan.

Rising Sun (Box)

CoolMiniOrNot will be taking the reigns on this one again as well as Guillotine Games and Studio McVey. Here you’ll be battling it out in a test of of wills duelling with honour, negotiation and warfare in feudal Japan. It also comes with epic miniatures.

This games heritage lies in the likes of Diplomacy, a stalwart of a game from 1959. This saw you wrestling for control of Europe before World War I. Similar mechanics are going to be present here but with the typical Eric Lang twist to make it more modern and exciting to play.

You can take a closer look at the models here showing off just what you can expect. Of course these are the prototypes but when you’ve seen the quality of the sculpts in Blood Rage you will be chomping at the bit.

As you can see there is a definite mix of the Historical and the Fantastical in here. Eric Lang explained that the Gods have returned and they are unhappy with how they find the world. Therefore you will be fighting for one of these Gods to reshape the world in their image.

You should be looking for this game to come to Kickstarter next year and we would assume it will come with all manner of exciting extras since CoolMiniOrNot are at the helm.

Will you be looking out for this one?
