the wall sections are awesome! the towers however need some detailing , but its a very decent pricing the stuff shown in the first picture costs 65 GBP altogether. I really like it ! hope they expand their range.
these look coooooooooooooooooooooolllllllllll
I’ll hold comment until we see an assembly/construction review 🙂
Just checked their website and it looks like they do some interesting stuff. Im in the market for some new terrain soon so this could be the answer along witha couple of the Micro Art Studios Radar Installation thingys.
call me a noob, but what exactly is MDF?
“Medium density fibreboard”
medium density fiberboard , particle board.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medium-density_fibreboard
Seen these guys on Dakka , love there bases.
I like the look of this one, a lot like the compound in starship troopers, and its a massive footprint of terrain for the cost.
MDF = the new asbestos. Great for DIY and model making, but when sanded or cut the particles are so fine that they hang in the air. These particles are carcinogenic. I don’t mean to be scaring antone here but thats the view of people in the industry.
wear a mask and do it outside/ ventilated areas and you are fine ^^
Fortunately all this stuff is already cut and sanded for you.
Simply snap it out of the wooden “sprue” and fit together… much like the Micro Arts stuff Darrell showed recently.
That stuff looks good…MDF is not 100% healthy but i think a dust mask and sensible precautions should see you right.
I hear high quality metal figues give you cancer to…send to me and ill look after them for you
In that case I bagsy looking after folks’ resin minis 😛
Nice try Trebor lol
This looks very interesting
Yeah, nice try. Wish I’d thought of it first…
danr i somehow snipped the resin bit, you can keep your failcrap though 😉
Like the look of the walls, nice sci fi vibe, the towers need more work to not look ‘cut out’.
I wonder if the depth of them might be hard to play with. Where do you balance your 40k assault troops 1″ away from the defenders?
Do like the design though… My Death Korps would love to sit behind these…
I like the towers but agree they could do with some detailing/texture
Anything but skullz! 😛
Hi all, Harry from Warmill Here to say Hi! For anyone who has any concerns about the safety of MDF and our terrain, there are a couple of points to note: 1) Any activity that creates particulates (dust) can present a health hazard. If you sand anything strictly speaking you should wear a dust mask or be in a ventilated area. This goes for MDF, foam, plastic, resin, anything. Any particulate can cause an increased risk of cancer by irritating the cells that line the throat and lungs (mechanical rather than chemical damage), this is not unique to MDF. 2)… Read more »
Product looks very good, glad to see slight health risk covered and web section re working with it is a sound idea
Well, only looked at the pics of the fortress kit so far and it looks awesome. Presumably because it’s made of MDF it’s a fantastic price for a terrain piece that big. I’m off to drool over the rest of the website now but great work Warmill!!!
I’d recommend these to anyone, the walls were easy to build once out of the flat pack sprue.
The gate is very delicate, but goes together great and if you wish can open and close as you like.
