Stoessi's Heroes continue to introduce us all too notable characters from World War II and this time their latest releases are focusing on the German Fallschirmjäger.

Considered elite infantry units of the German military the Fallschirmjäger, or paratroopers, played an important role during the war.

Rudolf Witzig is first of three miniatures being added to the Stoessi's Heroes range.

Rudolf became famous in May 2940 when he captured the supposedly impregnable fortress of Eben-Emael in Belgium.

He was later injured while fighting in Crete but returned to fight in Tunisia and despite being captured his name was added to the Honor Roll of the Luftwaffe.

Walter Koch was a highly decorated commander of the Fallschirmjäger during World War II.

For his actions during the battle of Fort Eben-Emael in May 1940 Koch was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross.

However, Koch publicly denounced an order from the Führer to execute all captured commandos. This lead to much suspicion around his death which, as a result of a motor vehicle collision, followed soon after.

Erich Lepkowski became famous for “Lepkowski’s Prisonbreak”, which took place on 16 August 1944.

Lepkowski and his men went deep into territory held by Partisans of the French Forces of the Interior (FFI) and by Americans in order to rescue 130 of their fellow Fallschirmjäger troops from a POW camp.

All the miniatures are made of white metal.
