Head Back Into Super Dungeon Explore With Forgotten King!

Soda Pop Miniatures are back on Kickstarter with a stand alone expansion to their world of Super Dungeon Explore. See what you think of Forgotten King!
Just as with the first box we have a massively awesome looking box filled with heroes and monsters alongside tiles and many tokens too. All of the stuff inside this box is going to be backward compatible with what you've been playing with before as well so your collection is going to be massive by the end of this!
Of course it wouldn't be a Kickstarter without some pledge levels that are incredibly enticing. This one seems to be the sweet spot giving you a few more minions and an alternatively sculpted hero.
One of the interesting things about this Kickstarter is that Soda Pop seem to have shaken off the shackles of Cool Mini Or Not now and are going it alone, self publishing this new expansion to the game.
It's quite the colourful looking game and while I've not been that drawn to it the game has been tweaked and tested so it's now a fantastic dungeon crawler.

can your characters gain experience and level up, or is it simply a one off style game?
As things stand it’s a one-off game. Forgotten King is essentially a 2nd edition of the game and will have new play modes but I don’t think character progression would be one of them. There’s nothing to stop you doing it yourself, especially if you have the original set and one or both of the existing expansions.
Looks like there might be a campaign system in FK after all.

I always liked the first edition. Just need to save up for this then 🙂

Anyway its always over 290k which is good with some awesome stretch goals, not just new characters but also some stuff that was missing from the original game like plastic tokems and stuff.
I should also be mention that if you already have all the old stuff Core and Von Drakk Manor and Caverns of Roxor, you get upgraded card for everything to bring them up to scratch with this set. I am not sure how that works with recent releases of mini bosses, heroes and new bosses.
