Piece Together A Hellscape With Dwarven Forge

We were teased with a future set for dungeon dwelling not long ago and now the Hellscape has been revealed. Check out the set below from Dwarven Forge…
A mighty fine set that would be perfect for those adventurers looking for a deadly adventure in the bowels of Hell. I love the style of these, with magma oozing through every crack. You even get some cool terrain pieces too!
You can even buy some individual pieces like the Hellscape Throne above to add some drama to your dungeon.
What do you think of this kit?

The only downside I can see is that (for me) it is a lot of pennies for a specific dungeon which might not get used very often.
and although the style is not to my tastes it would be jolly D to use
Ahh, Dwarven Forge. I always love their sets and the two Hellscape sets are no exception.. (my D&D Tiefling would be right at home!) but there is so much more competition in terms of dungeon terrain these days that I’m not sure I would buy a DF set even if I had the money.. considering that you can buy two Terraclips sets from the Dungeon Rise series plus clips for the same price as one DF set (and if you are really strapped for cash but have oodles of time, there is WWG’s TLX terrain too).
Of course, even with the new angled corridor section in Dungon Rise, the DF terrain goes together much faster and will always look more natural (while the boxy Terraclips stuff reminds me of video game level design circa Hexen).. but I’m really starting to think that the sweet spot in terms of price vs value & versatility is actually the laser cut MDF terrain. The Alien’s inspired Bug Hunt Corridors (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1812955737/bug-hunt-corridors?ref=live) are amazing and the price per section / room is a (little) bit kinder to the wallet than something from DF. Given that it is only a matter of time before someone starts producing good fantasy dungeon sets in MDF, it does make me wonder how Dwarven Forge will compete in the future.. or perhaps there will always be a market for premium terrain such as this.
Now thats what you call making an entrance.
You’re even better at these puns than Brennon!
I love the concept, it’s a bit too specific for my tastes but if they were to work on a more generic looking dungeon then they’d get money out of me, that’s for sure!
They already have a classic dungeon set, and it’s just as nice – and just as pricey. Great stuff if you can afford it
