Darrell gets asked about what the best transport for blood angels is and if its better to take a stotmtost…. i mean stromraven or land raider.
drop pods on assualt squards with 2 melta gun all the way!
Was this supposed to be unlisted on youtube?
The problem with drop-pods on assault squads is that they can have JP’s for no pts difference and benefit from Descent of Angels when doing so and can move 12″ in subsequent turns. With Death Company their JP’s are prohibitively expensive to do this and that in turn makes the Drop-Pod more appealing.
Overall Rhino’s are the best transport choice (although i’m a Jump-pack person personally) for most Blood Angels, Razorbacks giving you the firepower but as a combat oriented arm the small transport capacity lets it down. The vid was dead on about Stormravens and Landraiders leaving out one piece of advice, don’t deepstrike your Landraider, ever. I have never seen this work.
I’m a huge fan of the Stormraven. It dies quickly but usually after it’s in your opponent’s face and is ready to unload its cargo. Additionally, it’s cheaper and has more firepower than a Land Raider (at the cost of survivability, of course).
storm raven are awesome!!.
Against the eldar and dark eldar the lance special rule means that you may as well take the storm raven.
do mega nobz get a invulnerable save?
Min. 4:49 was that another of the “uninvited tenant” in the studio?… O o
I run 9 Death co with a fist and 2 power weapons with a chaplain in raven at 1750 and they are brutal. Every game they wipe out whatever I point them at. Full speed first turn hope to fluke a bunch of 4+ covers and then charge 2nd turn while the raven opens up.
Of course the raven regularly dies before i get the charge but as long as I am in their deployment I still get that charge. I tried with a rhino but could never get where i needed to be quick enough. Although its rhinos all the way for the rest of the army who always play the second wave after the death co are stuck in.
Also why NO mention of razorbacks? They can move 12″ and still shoot!! That’s a big thing for a marine army.
