Cast Your Vote To Return A Black Library Classic

Black Library are going to launch a celebration in the early stages of 2018 and plan to re-publish a pair of Black Library classics, one from 40k and one from the World That Was of Warhammer Fantasy.
Now Black Library are giving the Warhammer Community the chance to cast their votes for which books they want to see return.
Here are the selections for the 41st Millennium:
Brothers of the Snake by Dan Abnett
Lord of the Night by Simon Spurrier
13th Legion by Gav Thorpe
Soul Drinker by Ben Counter
Space Marine by Ian Watson
The Emperor's Gift by Aaron Dembski-Bowden

I'm excited to see the return of these, especially the old Warhammer Fantasy novels. This gives us the chance to either revisit an old favourite or discover a classic for the first time for ourselves.

I didn’t have chance to read those back in day so I will welcome second chance to do so no matter which two get re-published. Still based on authors one that I would least want to see is Soul Drinker because it’s author is Ben Counter who’s writing I don’t like.
I’ve only read one of his. I found his ability to weave a story together to be pretty good, but he has an unfortunate tendency to interrupt his prose with exposition and, ultimately, the story of that book left me very underwhelmed. A great build up with little in the way of pay off.

I have only read Seventh Retribution from him. What i didn’t like about his style based on it is that characters in his books lack character and feel interchangeable like they are just there taking part to events that take place instead of being people involved with those events. Gav Thorpe (my favorite one from him being Legacy of Caliban) how ever is one Black Library author who’s writing I really like as characters in his books have what characters in Ben Counter’s books lack. The only real vote for me is “Space Marine” and “Drachenfels”, both being examples of the oldest Games Workshop literature. It would be nice to have a chance to pick them up in dead-tree format again, with updated covers, etc.
Personally, I wish I could vote for two from fantasy; Masters of Magic and Burning Shores. One because I love the Empire Colleges of Magic and the second because Lizardmen will forever be my first love in gaming.
Gotta be Drachenfels. Such an awesome story.
Was a tough choice between Soul Drinker and Emperor’s Gift, but had to go with the Grey Knights purely for certain characters appearances (avoiding spoilers for those that haven’t read it! 🙂 )
Are any of these books from before the Black Library was established? I remember there were Genevieve novels from the way back when.
Space Marine and Drachenfels for sure, great books and they are both in my collection. Not sure about the age of Zavant, that one slipped by me.
I voted for Space Marine, as any right thinking person would.
Disappointed not to see ‘The Wine of Dreams’ up for vote. One of the earliest BL fantasy novels and it was excellent.
The thing that really pains me about this @dracs is that your mentioning the “old” Warhammer Fantasy novels, and I have both the original release of Drachenfels and the Black Library re-release on my bookshelf…
(Although to be fair I have a lot of the other books off this list as well…)
