Darrell chats about just where he thinks is a good place for your objective in a game fo Warhammer 40K.
Stick an objective in the corner of the board with plague marines sitting on it and i won’t even worry about it anymore, all i have to do is make sure it doesn’t get contested.
grate tip Darrel i have won so nid game thanks to that tip .
I used this tactic against you Darrell at DD3, remember? My termagants weathered sooo many blast templates from your long fangs and thanks to fearless, I stayed on the objective.
Your gaunts refused to do the decent thing and die. They must been feeling brave that day
Brave and the Hive Mind willed it!
I tend to try and keep a couple of hard hitting units near the opponents objectives but not on them, or even just a massive swarm squad to swamp in and contest for turns 5 and 6. I think taking objectives is one of the times were people get too fixated on a 100% result, most of the time its better to be pragmatic about it, as long as you hold one you can contest the rest with a single guardsman each and you still win.
All I can say is god bless the Imperial Guard and their sheer amount of indirect fire & fire on my target.
Sometimes a good tactic is to actually put your objective in your oppenents area. I like to do this so that you can be aggressive and force your opponent to react. For example say it was 4 objectives deploy 1 in your area and one in his. Be aggressive, but hold your one objective and contest or hold all objectives in his area. He’s too busy reacting to you attacking to try and take your objective.
Depends on a lot of things but it makes it easier to have a game plan if you plan to be aggressive.
These vids of Darrel might not always be completely accurate, but many contain good tips and after watching some of them I really learned how to think while playing competitive. Thanks a lot Darrel!
