Darrell has a look at how you can get cover saves for your vehicles.
the only prob is you are assuming all shots are taken in front of you, if you did a similar method but kept them in a triangle formation as you deployed, unless your opponent got behind you, 2 out of 3 vehicles would get the cover. Also if you positioned the front vehicle on its side, you would still get cover from shots directly in front of you (rotating dosnt count as moving so you can position them however you like).
although these kind of moves are legal, I do hate the fact that it makes the game less skirmish and narrative lead more about counters… It’s like when you move across the battlefield, you always end your turn facing the enemy… So the enemy never had a chance to shot side armour??? Not right.
*cough* disruption pods *cough* 5 points *cough*
Annoying *cough* as He.*cough* .ll *cough* I hate them *cough*
little good tip. something handy for mech armies… i used it back in the day with my razorbacks. The reduced movement is not such an issue if you want to fire the weapon turrets on them. The smoke popper can move 12″ and the shooters move their max 6″. Even though smoke is good, it’s still good to use in combo with real cover. To cover those side angles where any debate might be. Another thing about rhino chassis is front and side armor 11… so not so much an issue how you end your movement, as long as back end is properly facing away. Unlike IG Chimeras for example. And since the turrets are well above the main hull they can fire over each other (TLoS). To add another element, the cover save the vehicles give to the occupants can’t be forgotten once they disembark…you’d be surprised how often you can hide 50% of a 6 man unit from multiple angles when you have 3 disembarkation points.
Neat. As long as the dice gods don’t allow the front vehicle to brew up and also the rear. Poor piggie in the middle! lol
Didn’t the Germans do a similar thing in the bocage to block the roads up?
Been using “rhino leapfrog” for years with my Space Wolves. This is the only way iv got rhinos over the field against my reg Eldar opponant.
