Check out this model… this is the new Space Marine Stormeagle… a brand new kit from Forge World!
What do you think guys?
They fixed the Stormraven…and from the Salamanders iconography it’ll be for ALL chapters. This is coming to plastic. Just like the Valkyrie. Definitely.
You know, it reminds me of that Chapterhouse extension kit. I think someone was watching…looks like the sales will be coming back Citadel’s way!
Certainly better looking than the Blood Angels flying skip. Have they posted any rules yet?
lol,, a day early aint it?
Just don’t like the Imperium “It’s a box, let’s stick wings on and call it a flyer” aerotackle. They may as well just used a Rhino chassis and got even more mileage out of that.
It’s certainly not because GW can’t design cool flying machines because the other races have cool stuff. Good grief even Ork flyers are cooler! lol
so it’s a storm raven at a size that would actually fit what a storm raven can carry
It’s a fake? There’s nothing on the Forge World page…
It actually looks like a Stormraven add on kit sooo… maybe you can use this instead of a Stormraven?
i also think it is an April Fool looking on the Fw website i am sure it would have at least been set to us via e-mail and £80 feels a little cheap for them at least
It’s obviously a Storm Raven conversion kit; it reuses the nose, the wings, the landing gear and the engines. So the cost is probably kept down because it is a half-plastic kit.
As for April Fools, Forge World’s Open Day has always come around April 1st, and they have never done any April Fools jokes. And if it really turns out to be a joke, so many people have reacted positively that they want one, that FW would be stupid not to make it anyway.
as i said in the forum post, it looks to me like the tau got hold of a storm raven then the imperials got it back and put rockets on the top.
Fake or not, that does look cool. Just when I was thinking of selling my salamanders.
Also, why doesn’t the pilot have the salamanders skin tone?
That’s not a bare head – that’s a helmet that comes with the Stormraven kit.
Most(if not all) Space Marine chapters, have techmarines as drivers, and pilots for their vehicles. I believe I saw that somewhere.
Let’s see… Looks like storm raven cockpit has been moved slighlty, add in some TAU wings and use the missile pods from the Casteus Assault Ram… I’m sure the engines come from some valkyrie bits. Seems like an April Fools mock up
I’m still waiting for the SM gunship for normal games. (I have two thunderhawks already)
Damn that’s one hell of a tune up! : )
It’s not a fake, here is the link to the FW site. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Home/Space_Marine_Stormeagle.html
That looks very nice.
ha, ha… just because there is a link on the website doesn’t mean it isn’t a fake! There is no description on the website
Forgeworld usually has product landing pages on their site weeks before the actual product is released, so the links in the newsletters have somewhere to go.
Fore example, note that the Deimos Predator Executioner and Masterclass book have similiar pages currently.
Actually looking at the assault ram a little closer those are the wings from it just angled…someone cut up some models
29th of March and on sunday we have 1st of April….Stil a nice try though.
So is All Fool’s day like Christmas and starts earlier each year? Why would you have an April Fool’s jape in March? Surely that would be Mad March Hares’ Joke not April Fool?
Ah so it is a helmet. Now I see it.
Is this for real? I like it alot but the proximity of April’s 1st makes me wonder…
That’s not how April fools works, you get one day, April the 1st to pull your gag, pull it any other time, its not an April fools joke, just a plain old joke, and would not be considered humorous, even by Games Workshop…
Then again there is the possibility they were just too cheap to pay their web monkeys the overtime to upload it on a Sunday…
I really like the wing designs but I am a little disappointed they kept the raven’s blocky cockpit and nose. I have to wonder if this is GW’s response to Chapterhouse’s stormraven conversion kit. It is a little odd they don’t have a full page for it or any more pictures yet, but I think that is too much work put in for just a joke. It could have been a picture that went live before they wanted it to, or someone put up the info page for the new release wrong. I find it easier to believe in mistakes on a website than masterfully crafted models as jokes.
The Megaman fan in me loves the name. I’ve had this song in my head the entire time I’ve been typing this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sayGb0MMS_k
it’s what the stormraven gunship should have been in the first place…GW should let forge world make all their models.
im so glad i held off getting a stromraven and converting. if thats the real price. for the size it looks an ok deal and ill get 1 or 2
It looks like the link isn’t working now
